The Austin-Healey 100\/6, launched in 1956 and produced until 1959, represents an important step in the evolution of the Austin-Healey range. This change in engine was intended to make the car smoother and more powerful, while meeting the expectations of the American market, the main outlet for these British roadsters.<\/p>\n
In terms of design, the 100\/6 retains the elegant and low lines of the previous series, but introduces some tweaks, such as a slightly modified grille, a hood with a raised air intake, as well as an extended wheelbase allowing the addition of two small rear seats, making the model a 2+2. Two main variants are offered: the BN4 with four seats and a four-speed gearbox with overdrive, then the BN6 with two seats, introduced in 1958.<\/p>\n
In 1957, the Austin-Healey 100\/6 saw an improvement in its performance, notably thanks to a new cylinder head and better fuel supply, reinforcing its appeal to sports driving enthusiasts.
