For the first time, the Maranello-based manufacturer offered a true four-seater coupe, capable of delivering the comfort of a grand touring car while retaining the performance and mechanical refinement of its sports models.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"205\" data-end=\"852\">\nPowered by the famous 2,953 cc Colombo V12 engine, fed by three Weber carburetors and paired with a manual transmission, the 250 GTE offered a driving experience typical of Ferrari: flexibility, progressive power, and one of the most iconic engine sounds ever produced in Maranello.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"205\" data-end=\"852\">\nThe example presented here is a Ferrari 250 GTE Series I, produced in September 1961. When it left the factory, it was delivered in an elegant combination of Marrone metallic with a crema interior, typical of early 1960s Ferrari grand tourers.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"205\" data-end=\"852\">\nThe car was registered in Italy in 1962, before continuing its international career. At a later date, it was exported to the United States, where it continued its life in a private collection.<br \/>\nIn 1990, with approximately 62,000 km on the clock, the car was repatriated to Italy by Massimo Ferragamo, a member of the famous Florentine family behind the Salvatore Ferragamo fashion house. Under the ownership of the Ferragamo family, the car underwent restoration in Italy, during which it took on its current appearance in red with a beige interior, a configuration that has become emblematic of classic Ferraris.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"205\" data-end=\"852\">\nThis example also appears in the book \u201cFerrari: The Legend,\u201d on pages 26 and 27, attesting to the interest in this chassis.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"205\" data-end=\"852\">\nThe car then continued its history in Belgium, where it was registered by its last owner in December 2001.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"205\" data-end=\"852\">\nAlways used in keeping with the spirit of the great Ferrari touring cars, the car notably took part in the 2003 Tour Auto, one of the most prestigious historic events for classic cars.<br \/>\nIn recent years, the car has undergone extensive work and maintenance, demonstrating serious mechanical care and a desire to keep the car in optimal working order. These interventions, costing \u20ac150,000 since 2001, now allow for confident use, both on the road and in historic events.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"205\" data-end=\"852\">\nCombining the nobility of the Colombo V12, the elegant lines designed by Pininfarina, a provenance marked by the Ferragamo family, and a documented history spanning Italy, the United States, and Belgium, this Ferrari 250 GTE Series I is a particularly attractive opportunity to enter the world of 1960s Ferrari V12s.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"205\" data-end=\"852\">\nThis 250 GT\/E is in perfect condition: the bodywork has a few signs of use, but remains very beautiful. The interior is perfect, as is the engine compartment. The engine runs very well and the car handles beautifully on the road. It has been used regularly by its owner since its acquisition.
