The Riley RM was produced from 1945 to 1955. Designed in-house, this is a range of front-engined, rear-wheel-drive sedans for up to 4 adults.<\/p>\n
The RM was the last independently designed Riley model, initially launched as a single 1.5-liter variant, known today as the RMA. Launched in August 1945, it used independent torsion-bar front suspension and a wooden chassis for the body. A year later, a longer variant with a larger 2.5-liter engine arrived, known today as the RMB. Both models were intended to replace the pre-war Kestrel sedans. If they are not placed side by side to determine length, the RM 1.5 and 2.5 liters can be distinguished by their badges – dark blue for the 1.5, light blue for the 2.5. Both models were replaced in 1952 by new cars with enlarged rear windows and improved final drive ratios. RMA has been replaced by RME, RMB by RMF.<\/p>\n
What are RMC and RMD? Both were low-volume open models based on the 2.5-liter RMB – the RMC was a three-seat open roadster in the classic tradition, built from 1948-1951. The RMD was an elegant four-seater open touring car, built from 1949 to 1951 and based again on the RMB model.<\/p>\n
Production of the RMF stopped in 1953, after just one year, as the new BMC company launched a new company car, the RMH, better known as the Pathfinder.<\/p>\n
This 1952 RMF, right-hand drive, is in excellent condition, both aesthetically and functionally. It does not appear to have been restored and is in interesting original condition.<\/p>\n
