The end of the season is approaching for classic car enthusiasts: it’s time to put away our beautiful old cars and stroll around the shows that will be taking place until spring. After a period of falling prices that began in 2022, we are now witnessing a recovery in the market, with prices slowly starting to rise again. We saw this most recently at the “Auto e Moto d’Epoca” show in Bologna, where prices were well above recent market realities. But then, this is Italy, and the advertised price is rarely the sold price! With the multiplication of online sales platforms, the popularity of auction houses and the emergence of classic car supermarkets, it’s important for Route59 to focus on what has made it so successful so far:
- Transparent pricing policy for buyer and seller
- Moderate sales commissions
- Advice and support for buyers
- Car quality
Old cars are not new cars, and breakdowns are inevitable. As a venerable colleague well known on the Belgian market would say: “the only guarantee you can give is that the vehicle will break down, and that’s the beauty of it”. At Route59, we do our utmost to minimize risk and provide our customers with the best possible assistance in the event of a problem. We have recently improved our services, and now offer a service with every car:
- Technical inspection
- Registration, supply of plates and management of procedures with the DIV if necessary
- Complete pre-delivery maintenance
- 1-year conformity warranty
- Liability insurance with assistance for one year
- Vehicle valuation by an approved expert
- Supporting membership of BEHVA for one year
- BEHVA identification sheet
Unlike many sales channels (auction houses, salons, “supermarkets”, etc.), we have driven, tested and approved all the cars we sell. We offer you the possibility of examining them in detail on a deck and taking them for a test drive before any purchase: this is even recommended, as the car’s driving position or ride may not be to your liking! We’ve just returned some very interesting cars: Alvis Firebird Tourer, MG TC, Mercedes Pagode 280 SL 6-speed, Austin Healey BJ8, Jaguar XK120 and 150 OTS all in exceptional condition, and not forgetting a 1966 Ford F100 pick-up. Other cars returning in November include a Mercedes 220 SE Cabrio, a Lancia Flaminia Pinin Farina and a Buick Electra Cabriolet. So come and visit us – you won’t be disappointed!
