Unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 1989, the Ferrari 348 succeeded the 308 and 328 and marked a significant evolution in the history of Maranello’s V8 berlinettas. Its Pininfarina-designed bodywork adopted the stylistic cues of the Testarossa, with its famous side vents and taillights concealed behind a black grille.
The 348 also introduced a new architecture with its longitudinally mounted V8, paired with a transversely mounted 5-speed transmission—a layout that gave the car its name: 3.4 liters, 8 cylinders. Its naturally aspirated 3,405 cm³ V8 engine produced 300 ch, delivered exclusively to the rear wheels, without the numerous electronic aids that would characterize subsequent generations of Ferraris.
The 348 TS version adds the pleasure of a Targa-style removable roof to this powertrain. It thus combines the berlinetta’s styling with the ability to drive with the wind in your hair. Non-power-assisted steering, a metal gearshift gate, a naturally aspirated engine, and very mechanical controls make it a Ferrari that is particularly representative of the brand’s analog era.
This Ferrari 348 TS, chassis number ZFFKA36B000087392, was first registered on January 11, 1991. Its records trace its origins to Germany, where it had several owners and registrations throughout the 1990s, as evidenced by its original Fahrzeugbrief and the various official stamps it bears.
The car is then registered in Belgium, and its chassis number is also listed on its Belgian certificate of conformity.
Before it goes on sale at Route59, this 348 TS will undergo a complete service—including, notably, the replacement of the timing belts—so that it will be ready to hit the road when it reaches its future owner.
